I've been dreaming of getting a pair of Jeffery Campbell Tardy boots for a while now. So, I couldn't pass them up when I received a pretty good discount.  I chose this color rather than others because its orange which is my favorite color. And its a show piece that not safe, a little funky, and a little wild without being hard to wear. Well at least for me haha. As for the Snake skin loafers with the studs, that was a WTF moment and a instant must have.  Two new addition to the family that I can not wait to rock.

The Spring semester is finally over and I didn't know until this weekend how much it took a toll on me. I'm feeling so tired lately and maybe its because I have been eating so shitty and going to sleep super late. That has to change and it will. Anyway, I'm ready for this summer to begin and the weather in New Orleans is agreeing with me. Blue sky, sunny days are what I've been seeing the last few days. Even tho I will be attending summer classes, I know this summer is going to be a great one. I'm going to try to take pictures everyday or at least every other day. Lets see what this summer brings, but what I know for sure is its going to be fun.

Jazz-Fest Pt.3

This past Saturday I had chance to see Mrs. Lauryn Hill in concert.  Of course I had to work ( sucks I know).  So I got up at 7:00 am to be at work for 8:00 am to get off at 4:00 pm. I barley making it on time for the 5:30 pm performance because I (my silly self) left my wallet at work. Yet, I made it there and enjoyed an awesome performance. I wish she would have done some songs from her unplugged album but she played a few from her Fugees days and a little Bob Marley too. All and all a very eventful day and weekend courtesy of New Orleans Heritage Jazz Festival.

Jazz Fest 2011 Pt.2

Hey, I hope everyone had a good weekend. Last weekend was crazy busy for me. Not only did I go to the New Orleans Jazz-Fest but I had to work and study for finals too. On Friday I went to see Lupe Fiasco and he put on an amazing show. He had so much good energy and stage presence, plus the band just add more dimensions to the music. I didn't really get to walk around and take pictures because I didn't want to lose my good spot in the front.  Well, I'm off to study for my last final, wish me luck.

(Sorry for the lack of good quality pictures. My camera was stolen about two months ago and I have been using my Iphone to take the pics. Saving up for a kick-ass Nikon.)

Fishes Are In School

How awesome is these palazzo pants that my mom found for me at the thrift. At first I was a little scared to wear them. Then I was F* that  these are the shit. I got a lot of stares walking down the street to work. But thats what happen when you just love fashion and happen to not care what others think. This past Sunday I went to Jazz Fest to see John Legend and the Roots, then Mos Def pop up on stage and did a surprise performance. Hot!!!!! Right?  I will post pics of that in the next few days.

Anyway, I up for a week of butt kicking, due to finals. Yet, when I'm at Jazz Fest this Friday and Saturday watching Mrs. Lauryn Hill (don't forget the Mrs. Now lol) and Lupe it will all be worth it. Well off to do some damn work. Have a nice day.

Working Girl

This weekend I was a working girl lol. Being in retail you have to always strike a balance of wearing with is cute, fashionable, work appropriate , but still comfortable.  Plus, I had to walk to work this weekend due to a marathon that took over the downtown streets of New Orleans.  So I throw on my trusty jeans, and loafers and this awesome shirt I brought at Anthro the previous week. It  baggy, airy, and a little heavy all at the same time, weird, I know. The Dooney bag I brought for $7 has been my go to bag since I brought it a week ago.

So folks, I got some really good news. Which is, this week I start my new job working at Urban Outfitters in New Orleans. This is going to be awesome because  get to meet a lot of  cool people and maybe take pics of their kick-ass outfits. Plus being the first to see some of Urbans new clothing doesn't hurt either.

Those pictures where taken last Sunday on a bright and sunny day. Total opposite of today, where I'm just waiting for it to start pouring down raining.  This week has been all over the place for me and some of my friends. One minute its going great, then all of a sudden boom ......shit just starts to feel like its falling apart. Hopefully a little thrift store shopping, Thai ice tea sipping, and bike riding after I replace the seat that some bums stole, I will feel much better.  Just like last Sunday I kept my outfit simple, I'm hoping to work at making my life a little bit simple too.

Hey, I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a pretty chilled weekend, and due to the fact that it was beautiful outside. Spent sometime in the French Quarter checking out people enjoying French Quarter Fest.  And I finally got my butt to the thrift but was a little disappointed. I only found three things and one of them was a hourglass that broke by falling out of the bag :-( . So sad.  I pick up some really cool things from Anthro this week also.  I let you see in another post. Well off to bed. Have a big art project do and photoshop is getting the best of me lol.

Hey everyone, I know I been away for a little while. Its only due to the lack of having the ability to taken my own pics, but who said I have to be mum. This week I did a little bit of shopping minus the thrift ( sad :-( I know ), but maybe next weekend. I got some really great piece at discounted prices. I just got in my Magaschoni skirt from Gilt.com, its all silk and its beautiful. Two wrap bracelets I got from Anthro with my discount. These bracelets are great pieces to layer with other bracelets or around my watch to give it a little ump.  The Charka Roll perfume I got from urban and they are great.  You could wear them alone or combine them with a different perfume to give your scent more depth.  My favorite one is HEART, plus their small that they can always travel in your bag. Last but not least, are the shoes by Isabel Toledo for Payless. Usually I'm not a fan of the Payless collaborations but when I saw these I was in love. With a yes from my mom and my friend Lesly I shove out the $45 and went on my merry way. You will definitely have many pics of me with these shoes on come summer.

Hey everyone its been a long time. Today starts off the last weekend of parades until Mardi Gras.   In New Orleans that means lots of traffic, drunk folks, food, and beads.  My outfit reflect my twist of Mardi Gras attire, by pulling out my favorite army jacket purple, green, and black became my Mardi Gras colors.

As with every Saturday I head out for my thrift store trip. I found some really awesome stuff. Knowing but noticing the weather, when I was done shopping I walked into hurricane type rain and winds.

Well off to have a cup of coffee and watch Inception.
